Innovation. Partnership. CEO Leadership. Measurement.
Excellence Awards winners are added to a distinguished roster of companies that take part in an ongoing awareness building effort on their behalf by CECP. The storytelling that emerges from the awards brings corporate societal engagement to life, and the awards process allows companies to strengthen that story and share it among a wider audience. Presented annually since 2000, these awards are juried by an external Selection Committee that is comprised of representatives from the corporate, nonprofit, consulting, media, and academic communities.
The 2015 Awards application period is now closed. The 2016 applications will be available for submission in the spring of 2015.
To win, companies must demonstrate exemplary evidence of each of the following Standards of Excellence:
- CEO Leadership
- Dedication to Measurement
Application Categories (View applications)
There are two award categories for corporate applicants:
- Chairman’s Award: For companies with revenues greater than or equal to US $20 billion.
- President’s Award: For companies with revenues less than US $20 billion.
For nonprofit organizations, the Directors' Award recognizes the partnership between their organization and a corporate partner. This award category carries with it a $25,000 cash donation from CECP’s Board of Directors.
In addition to the Excellence Awards, CECP also recognizes giving officers with The Charles H. Moore Award for Leadership in Corporate Community Engagement, celebrating a corporate community engagement professional who demonstrates perseverance in the pursuit of societal advancement.
Benefits to Winning Companies
Through conference presentations, media, videos, images, social media, webinars, and more, CECP utilizes the stories of the winning companies' community programs as it raises awareness of effective corporate community investment among a wide variety of stakeholders. The Excellence Awards winners become CECP's primary cases studies for those interested in exploring the innovations occuring within companies.
Testimonial from Direct Relief:
“Immediately after receiving the 2014 CECP Directors’ Award, we notified all of our corporate partners and supporters with the great news. As a result, SAP, one of our large donor technology companies, reached out to see if they could interview our CEO for a video to be shown at one of their largest annual conferences, SAPPHIRE NOW. This video was shared by SAP’s CEO during his keynote, with 20,000 attendees and 200,000+ people live-streaming. We have worked with SAP for about seven years, and they have highlighted their work with us before. However, receiving the CECP Award reenergized them to re-tell the story of our work together."
