On February 25, 2013, International Corporate Philanthropy Day, CECP convened approximately 50 Fortune 500 CEOS to discuss the theme “CALL TO ACTION: Engaged Leadership, Unprecedented Impact.” In this closed door session, which has been consistently ranked among the world’s top 10 executive events by global public relations firm Weber Shandwick, this prestigious group of CEOs focused on the actions they are taking to multiply their investments in solving societal challenges.
The program began with the presentation of an Excellence Award to Ginni Rometty, Chairman, President, and CEO of IBM for its Smarter Cities Challenge. Chris Nurko of FurtureBrand moderated the panel discussion, in which Ursula Burns, Chairman and CEO of Xerox; Karim Khoja, CEO of Roshan; and Bob Moritz, Chairman and Senior Partner of PwC discussed CECP’s “Top Actions of an Engaged CEO”, a set of concrete steps that were introduced at the conference to help leading CEOS make societal engagement a priority within their companies. Following the panel discussion, the second Excellence Award was presented to James T. Prokopanko, President and CEO of The Mosaic Company for its The Mosaic Villages Project. Marc Benioff, Chairman and CEO of salesforce.com addressed the Executive Luncheon, providing insight behind the company’s 1-1-1 model. Additionally, CECP’s new brand and engagement model were unveiled.
